Share the photo.
Not its history.

Create a fresh copy without embedded camera, location or editing metadata.

The image is decoded and re-encoded on your device. It is not uploaded to RWAVE.

Fresh pixel copy

RWAVE draws the decoded pixels to a browser canvas and exports a new file, leaving embedded metadata behind.

Honest tradeoff

This is a re-encode, not lossless metadata surgery. File size or subtle image detail can change, especially for JPEG.

Local-first

Filename, image bytes and metadata are never sent to RWAVE. Anonymous analytics only records broad workflow events.

Why remove photo metadata?

Photos can contain technical information such as camera model, capture settings, software history and—when recorded—GPS location. Removing metadata before sharing reduces accidental disclosure, though it cannot remove private details visible in the pixels themselves.

How it works

  1. Choose or drop one supported image.
  2. Pick an output format and quality.
  3. Create and download the newly encoded copy.

For names, addresses or account details visible inside an image, use the screenshot redactor as well.
